In this workshop you will learn how to screen print and create your own colourful print using shapes from nature with added pops of colour. Working with others you will design and print your original image.

Screen printing is a process of transferring a stenciled design onto a flat surface using a screen, ink and a squeegee which forces the ink through the mesh of the screen. Although fabric and paper are the most common screen-printed surfaces, with special inks you can also print onto wood, metal and plastics. A “stencil” can be cut from thin paper, created photographically, or painted directly onto the screen with screen blockers. Designs for screen prints can use just one shade of colour, or several, but colours need to be applied in individual layers, using a separate stencil for each colour.
