REclaim is back! We bring you our festival of community, creativity and sustainability, 

REclaim Weekend is a free entry 3 day bank holiday weekend festival centred around Shoreham-by-Sea's Coronation Green on 25th to 27th May 2024. The festival is all about community, creativity and sustainability and features all manner of activities, performances and stalls for all ages.

Thanks to the Rampion Community Benefit Fund at the Sussex Community Foundation, the Enjoolata Foundation and the Coop Local Community Fund for their support of REclaim and our surrounding activities. Thanks also to PRS/PPL and th EcoPrint.

What's happening at REclaim Weekend?

Below is the full timetable of what's on over REclaim Weekend. We aim to include all relevant links, inlcluding links to booking pages and links to the websites and social media of everyone taking part.

We have also produced a printed leaflet including an outline timetable which will be available to pick up from The Circular Space and local businesses. Scroll down to see the leaflet.

Everything takes place on Coronation Green, Shoreham BN43 5DD unless specified otherwise.

The indicated ages are a guide to the age range suitability of the activity. Where no ages are indicated, all ages are welcome. You remain reponsible for any children you bring with you at all times.

Bookable sessions: direct booking links are given below and all bookable sessions can be seen at www.weareoverthemoon.org/upcomingevents. Book to guarantee a place. You can also try your luck turning up just before the start time but we may not be able to fit you in.

Other activity sessions/performances/talks: just drop in.

The festival site at Coronation Green is free entry and all activity sessions are ‘pay what you can’/ make a donation or free. You can donate by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay using the QR code on the back of the festival leaflet and displayed around the festival, online by card or Paypal when you book a session in advance and in cash at the festival. All funds raised will go towards festival costs or future events.

The programme is subject to alteration if circumstances require it, including to add late entries to the program (contact us if you want to be involved). In the event of any alteration the most up to date information can be found here, at www. facebook.com/reclaimadur and on the days of the event at Coronation Green, including late entries to the programme.

Saturday 25th May

All day REwrite: add to a giant community word collage or do your own creative writing collaging with discarded text, using The Scrap Space's stash, with Swig & Weave. Drop in. Donation

10am to 10.30am Breathwork Age 12 to adult. Drop in. Free

10am to 12pm Nature Makers: 'Stay and play’ type taster sessions of mindful, nature-inspired craft activity using natural and recycled materials. Nature Makers uses sustainable and vegan materials wherever possible. Age 2 to 8. Drop in. Free.

10am to 12pm Adur Repair Cafe, including Bike Hospital. Get help repairing household items including electrical and mechanical devices, textiles and bikes. Email adurrepaircafe@gmail.com to book in your repair or turn up and try your luck. Book/drop in. Donation               

10am to 12pm: REfashion your wardrobe: Get inspiration and quick and easy solutions to revitalise your garments and accessories. Get help with simple skills, fast-fixes and ideas to fall in love with your clothes all over again.... Bring along any items you want to work on. Age 7 to adult. Drop in. Donation

10am to 12pm Active Hope Workshop: work through your eco anxiety with climate coach Jo Peters. Active Hope (by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone) is a reflective practice held in a safe space, using active listening and a few exercises to help find resilience and hope in the face of the climate emergency. Age 15 to adult. Book here. Pay what you can towards Transition Town Shoreham.

10am to 11.15am and 11.15am to12.30pm Crochet - the basics workshops with Soul Makes. Age 16 to adult. Book here for the first session and here for the second session. Pay what you can.

11am West Sussex County Council waste prevention team recycling talk. Drop in. Free

12 to 2pm Meditation, laughter yoga & breathwork for children Age 7+. Drop in. Free

1 to 3pm REthread: jewellery making with reclaimed beads from The Scrap Space's stash. Age 3+. Drop in. Donation

2 to 3pm Sussex Underwater talk. Drop in. Free

3 to 5pm RElabel: badge making with reclaimed materials from The Scrap Space's stash. Age 3 to adult. Drop in. Donation

3 to 3.45pm Big Shared Sing with Gathering Light Choir. Join in or just listen. Drop in. Free

4pm Future Futures youth jazz performance. Drop in. Free

10.30am to 12.30pm Beach clean with Tideline Trash and Treasures: meet on shingle by Ferry Road. Drop in Free Afterwards end up at the festival site on Coronation Green for Tideline Trash and Treasures' talk (drop in) followed by turning beach trash into art (bookable - see below).

10am to 12pm Toy swap: drop off toys. Get a ticket for each toy you drop off (or 2 tickets for big toys) to exchange for a new toys! Good conditon only, no electrical toys, no cords longer than 30cm, no books (take them to Monday's book swap instead), up to 5 toys per person. Drop in. Donation

11am to 1pm Toy swap: choose new toys! One toy per ticket or 2 tickets for big toys.

11am to 1pm Nature Drawing with Art Club for Adults. Age 16+. Book here. Pay what you can

11.30 to 11.45am Split Hairs slapstick drama performance feauring scrap and swordfighting! Split Hairs is a Brighton-based collective creating new theatre and physical comedy. They are developing the production of a children’s show called 'The Sewage', which they have been performing over the last couple of years, including at the Brighton Fringe where it sold out and received a 5-star review from Voice Mag and FringeReview described it as a 'Must See' show. Here is a trailer for the show, which is about sibling rivalry and is performed in a Bouffon clown style, involving no spoken language and also incorporating elements of Visual Vernacular - a form of sign language that incorporates visual elements and gestures to convey meaning. Drop in. 3.30 to 4pm Everybody Dance Now! with Mumbop. CANCELLED

3.30 to 5.30pm Clothes Swap at Esteem (Old School House, Ham Road). Register here. Drop off clothes beforehand (see options in registration link). Optional donation to Esteem

Picnics welcome. Feel free to bring a blanket to sit on.  We would prefer that you take your rubbish home but if you can’t, please use the recycling bins provided (separate bins for cans, glass and plastic film).
